Goals of the Workshop:

This workshop will be to review and provide real-time feedback on documents created by the Polar Semantics and Vocabularies Working Group to support the Polar research data management in their semantic endeavours. The first document to be reviewed provides twenty recommendations on how to make metadata findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. The second complimentary document provides technical and specific guidance for employing controlled vocabularies for the ‘I’ and ‘R’ of the FAIR principles. Outstanding questions include how to better incorporate CARE and other Indigenous Data sovereignty principles, and what other initiatives are relevant (GoFAIR/ FAIR digital objects), etc.
